Advantages and disadvantages of fluoroplastic submerged pumps

Visits: | Date:2023-04-16

When transporting corrosive and oxidizing media such as acid, alkali, and salt in certain industries, such as hydrochloric acid, metal submerged pumps are relatively expensive and cost-effective. At this point, fluoroplastic long shaft submerged pump can be selected.

The pump body and impeller of the fluoroplastic submerged pump are partially immersed in the medium, occupying a small area, and there is no shaft seal, so there is no leakage phenomenon. The overcurrent components are made of non-metallic materials (PP, PVDF, PPH, ultra high polymer, etc.), and corresponding materials are used for different media, with good corrosion resistance and simple structure.

Fluoroplastic submerged pumps can transport liquids without the need for filling, making maintenance and repair convenient and can replace traditional self priming pumps.

If the medium contains solid particles or easily crystallized corrosive liquids, a cantilever fluoroplastic submerged pump can be selected, without a shaft sleeve or sheath, which will not cause unstable operation due to wear.

Due to material strength issues, the underwater length of fluoroplastic pumps is limited. Generally, the underwater length is within 1.5m. If the pit or storage tank exceeds a depth of 1.5m, an extended connecting pipe can be used to increase the length, but the starting liquid level must submerge the impeller position.

In addition, due to the fact that the material is mainly non-metallic, the temperature of the conveying medium is also limited, usually between -20 ℃ and 80 ℃. Excessive hardness of solid particles also has a certain impact on pump life.
